Subject: VIPAC news alert: WE MADE BUSH BLINK!

Dear VIPAC member!

Our strategy of raising our voices together with many others asking our
elected leaders in Washington to exhibit more support for Israel is helping
to make a difference. Even Tom Friedman who is no friend of Israel
concedes as much in his column in today's NY Times (June 30).

In his article entitled "The end of something" Friedman writes that Bush was
on the verge of taking a much harsher stance against Israel in his speech on
June 24 but changed his mind at the last minute. "Mr. Bush blinked because
he didn't want to alienate Jewish voters" Friedman writes.

As usual Friedman only writes part of the truth. We at VIPAC know that it
is not only Jewish voters but Christian American supporters of Israel as well
who are raising their voices on behalf of Israel during these troubled times!
And as we continue to work together in ever greater numbers the increasing
strength of our voice raised on Israel's behalf will be heard even louder and
clearer by the Bush Administration in the increasingly critical days to come.

So please continue each week to write phone and fax the White House as well
as your Senators and Congressman urging support for Israel's right for self
defense and an IMMEDIATE end to US aid to all Palestinian Islamic terrorists.
Urge all your friends neighbors family members and acquaintances to join
us in this important work. If we organize and work together with G-d's
help we can succeed.

And then President Bush will no longer have to blink to use Friedman's turn
of the phrase. With our encouragement and G-d's help President Bush will be
able to look the evil of Islamic terrorism straight in the eye--without
flinching--and declare: "We will destroy you before you can destroy us!"
