Subject: Rosh Hashana Greetings from VIPAC--Thank you for your participation!

Dear VIPAC member:

Rosh Hashanah is traditionally a time to take a spiritual inventory on our
actions during the past year. Personally as I do so I see one glaring
deficiency on my part. I do not think I have adequately expressed my thanks
and appreciation for all the work that you and each one of our VIPAC
members does every week.

It takes time and effort to cut paste edit and address the email messages
before you send them out with your own name at the bottom. It takes more
time and effort for you to use the text of the emails as scripts for phone
calls to the White House and Congress. And it takes no small amount of
courage to dare to speak truth to power--as we try to do in our VIPAC
messages--particularly when that power is backed by billions of petrodollars
to which most of the world pays craven obeisance.

Therefore I and the entire VIPAC staff wish to take this opportunity as we
approach Rosh Hashanah the Day of Judgment to thank each and every one of
our members for participating in our campaign to help Israel with our weekly
email messages. The time and effort that each one of you invests each week
to make your voice heard in Washington urging more support for Israel
demonstrates to the White House and to Congress that supporting Israel is in
their political self-interest. Your efforts to help Israel also demonstrate
to G-d your commitment to observe faithfully the Torah's exhortation of "Lo
Ta'amod al dahm rayecha--Do not stand idly while your brethren are in
danger." So even if the politicians prove deaf to our pleas Heaven will not
and therefore our efforts on behalf of Israel will eventually bear the fruit o
f salvation.

In the merit of your unceasing efforts to help Israel during these difficult
times may the Heavenly Court as it determines all of our fates on the Day
of Judgment this Rosh Hashanah inscribe you and your family in the book of
life happiness health prosperity and--above all--peace.

Leshana tova umetuka tikateyvu from Martin Elsant on behalf of all of the
VIPAC staff.
